The onset of COVID-19 has made Agricultural Law Education Initiative (ALEI) an even more important resource for farmers grappling with rapidly changing regulations.
When Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced the closure of all non-essential businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Maryland farmers began contacting ALEI to clarify how the regulation would impact their farms.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore, shared the good news about how ALEI was able to assist Laura Beth Resnick, owner of Butterbee Farm. Resnick's 5-acre farm in Baltimore County supplies sustainably grown local flowers to florists.
