Teams of scientists meet with legislators in a day devoted to climate science communication.
Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill has become a valuable educational meeting for bringing climate scientists and legislators together. On January 29, 2014, event organizers facilitated more than 100 congressional meetings for the fourth annual event. A training session on communicating science with congress was followed by visits to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators. AREC's Dr. Lint Barrage was among the 40 scientists, who worked in multi-disciplinary teams led by organizing institutions such as The Council on Food, Agricultural & Resource Economics (C-FARE). Dr. Barrage met with congressional staff from individual offices as well as with committee staff from U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
