The workshop, hosted by the University of Warwick, is going to be the first of a series of similar dissemination events on the microlevel consequences of political violence exposure. The goal is to bring together a core group of scholars from political science, economics and psychology to share and discuss their latest works on political violence and its consequences. In the first event of this series we will be focusing on economic behavior. Please join the workshop for a very interesting program of presentations by esteemed scholars of political violence.
There will be eight engaging sessions over the course of this two-day workshop covering a wide range of related topics.
New research by UMD AREC assistant professor Neslihan Uler and University of Warwick associate professor Arzu Kibris will be the focus of the session at 15:45 (10:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, April 5. Their paper, "The Impact of Exposure to Political Violence on Risk and Ambiguity Attitudes," will be the topic of the conversation led by discussant Maarten Voors and Arzu Kibris.
Professor Uler will be the discussant in a session with Marc Rockmore on Tuesday, April 6, at 15:45 (10:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time). They will be exploring Rockmore's paper, "The Implications of Aggregate Measures of Exposure to Violence for the Estimated Impacts on Individual Risk Preferences," co-authored with Christopher Barrett.
